MSC Cruises unveils improved itinerary for the winter season
MSC Cruises has announced a new Red Sea winter 2022-2023 itinerary on board MSC Splendida which will now be expanded to offer 33 shore excursions, including the addition of Cairo, Egypt.
The seven-night Red Sea itinerary will include extended stays in some of its scenic ports, giving guests plenty of time to explore destinations like Cairo and the Great Pyramid of Giza.

An announcement was made by MSC Cruises, informing passengers that this season MSC Splendida The seven-night winter Red Sea itinerary will expand its offerings to guests, including increasing its shore excursion options to 33.

The winter itinerary will now add a visit to the port of Sokhna in Cairo, Egypt, with an extended stay of 13 hours, giving guests more time to explore the last of the still-existing “seven wonders of the world”, the Great Pyramid of Giza.
During this winter season 2022-2023, MSC Splendida will call at the port of Sokhna, Safaga for Hurghada and Luxor, Egypt; Aqaba for Petra, Jordan; Jeddah for AlUla, Saudi Arabia; and Yanbu, Saudi Arabia.
Each port visited during this expanded itinerary will offer a diverse selection of 33 shore excursions available to all its guests, from adventurers to vacationers seeking relaxation.
The port of Sokhna in Cairo, Egypt, located on the Nile, will offer five excursion options to its guests in the Egyptian capital.
While visiting Cairo, the ‘city of a thousand minarets’, guests will have the opportunity to explore the Great Pyramid of Giza and the city’s famous mosques, including the Citadel of Saladin, as well as madrasas, hammams and fountains.
Safaga Port will take guests to Hurghada and Luxor, with 13 shore excursions available, offering cruise passengers the opportunity to visit Hurghada’s white sandy beaches stretching north and south of the city.

Guests can also explore the ancient city of Luxor via Safaga Port, with options to travel to Luxor Temple, Karnak Temple or the famous Valley of the Kings.
The Jordanian port city of Aqaba will give guests the opportunity to explore Petra, Jordan via eight shore excursions, such as the Wonders of Petra Tour, the ancient city and UNESCO World Heritage Site in the middle of the Jordanian desert.
Three excursions will be available during the guest call in Saudi Arabia’s second largest city, Jeddah, stopping at the Hegra Archaeological Site, the first UNESCO World Heritage Site in Saudi Arabia, and the ancient city of AlUla in a desert in the Hijaz mountains.
