Carnival Cruise Line welcomes Prime Minister of Bahamas to Mardi Gras stopover in Nassau

Carnival also announced today that it has changed flags, the Carnival Legend and Carnival Spirit, to the Bahamian flag, bringing the total number of vessels registered in the country to six.

Carnival Legend is set to replace Carnival Pride in Baltimore resumption of operations all year round November 14, 2021, while Carnival Spirit, based at Australia, is paused in guest operations via February 2022. Mardi Gras, Carnival Sunrise, Carnival Sensation and Carnival Sunshine are the other Carnival vessels registered in the Bahamas.

Mardi Gras was christened at a “Universe of Fun” celebration on 23 october in Port Canaveral, Florida. The celebration marked the first ship christening ceremony held in the United States since the cruise industry restarted this summer.

Mardi Gras is the Americas’ first cruise ship to be fueled by environmentally friendly liquefied natural gas (LNG) and features BOLT, the first roller coaster at sea. Mardi Gras sails year-round from Port Canaveral, offering seven-day itineraries east and west Caribbean, stopping in Nassau Every other week.
