AmaWaterways and Metropolitan Touring launch a new river cruise experience on Colombia
BOGOTÁ, Colombia, July 12, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Luxury river cruise innovator AmaWaterways today announced a groundbreaking partnership with Metropolitan Touring, South America leading tour operator, to introduce a new river cruise experience in Colombia. This is the first luxury river cruise company to sail the Magdalena River, an alliance brings together the remarkable and in-depth expertise of Metropolitan Touring destinations and the industry’s leading team of river cruise experts at AmaWaterways .
From December 2023, guests will be immersed in unique experiences on land as well as aboard a new eco-friendly, fully custom-built river cruise ship. New Ship and Cruise Program will incorporate years of design experience from President and Co-Founder of AmaWaterways Rudi schreiner – affectionately known as the “Godfather of the River Cruise” – as well as Metropolitan Touring’s decades of expertise in expedition cruises to the Galapagos Islands.
Guests will be able to choose from two seven-night itineraries with land-based programs before and after the cruise exploring the beautiful Magdalena River and immersing themselves in that of Colombia living cultural and natural heritage. Accompanied by a qualified team, which will include an on-board wellness manager, travelers on a river cruise on the Magdalena River will enjoy in-depth connections with nature, wildlife, culture, flavors and local people, as well as activities such as kayaking, hiking and bird watching.
