TOWN OF LEGAZPI: A motorboat carrying 16 passengers experienced engine trouble and capsized after being hit by large waves near Rapu-Rapu Island on Friday morning.
Lt. Col. Maria Luisa Calubaquid, regional police spokeswoman, said the water current was strong and the waves were big when the boat capsized.
Fortunately, she said, the passenger vessel RMLC 1 was just nearby and its crew and some staff from the Rapu-Rapu Municipal Police Station who were on board the passing vessel immediately rescued the people. passengers.

All rescued passengers were taken to Barangay Bagaobawan Port, Rapu-Rapu, Albay for immediate medical assistance.
